In what can only be described as hypo-twitical, John Mayer is campaigning for a weeklong "digital cleanse" following the first of the new year. The pop singer has outlined a 4-point plan on his blog which advocates a avoiding text messages and social networking sites, accessing email only from laptop or desktop computers (?) and a ban on celebrity gossip sites altogether. This sudden luddite turn sounds more than a little disingenuous coming from the holder of the #6 twitter account at just shy of 3 million followers. Would you dare deprive your loyal stalkers and A.D.D. fanclub of mundane details about you every bowel movement, John? I'll believe it when I see it.
